Elgin High School
was founded in 1872, and is one of the oldest continuously existing public high
schools in the state of Illinois. It is a multi-cultural comprehensive school:
approximately half the 2800 students are from ethnic minorities. |
The school, one of three high schools in Elgin, has a good IT infrastructure: in addition to computer rooms, every classroom has a networked computer and large display screen. |
Elgin is a rapidly growing city, situated about 40 miles north-west of Chicago, in the Fox valley. It has a strong, mixed economy, which includes a broad range of manufacturing industries. Motorola are one of the largest local employers. The school has its own web site, which you may like to visit. |
