Lionacleit is a community secondary school serving the islands of Uist and
Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. It has about 400 pupils, aged from 12 to 18. There are 45 teaching staff, and 40 ancillary staff. |

The school is also the main public building on the islands, and includes a public library, museum, theatre, and a 'telecottage', as well as a wide range of sports facilities. |
The
three main islands are linked by causeways, but students from outlying islands
cannot travel to school every day: the school has a 36 bed hostel to accommodate
them from Monday to Friday. The school provides a full range of courses, and has been involved in a number of special projects using Information and Communication Technologies in the past. |
